Jose and his family came to Los Angeles seeking an opportunity to work hard and make a better life for themselves. He will never forget his roots as he fights for our immigrant communities.

Jose is proud to be raising his family in South Central. He understands the need for safe neighborhoods as a parent and has achieved progress by building trust and establishing accountability. Jose has been steadfast in securing resources to ensure that no family goes without their basic needs fulfilled.
Public Servant
A tireless champion for District 9, Jose has worked to bring thousands of jobs and major investments to South Central. As part of Councilmember Curren Price's team, he has been a champion at City Hall for green spaces, prioritizing public transportation, pushing affordability-centered measures, and tackling issues to improve the quality of life for our community.
PROVEN LEADER
Educated in LA public schools, Jose experienced firsthand the benefits that came with investing in young people. This past year, he mentored over 100 high school students through the Ugarte Civic Youth Fellow program. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering with local nonprofits, bringing his family to our public parks, and supporting local small businesses.
